It is an important film for people seeking to understand the roots of conflicts in the country and for those concerned about the peace process,” Maranan said. Screening a 32-year old documentary is still relevant, says Jewel Maranan, festival director of Daang Dokyu. The Hollywood Reporter writes that the film “sparkles with deadpan with and shrewd observations”. The documentary won the People’s Choice Award at the 1989 Berlin International Film Festival, the Prix du Public award on the 50th anniversary of the National Film Board of Canada, the Grand Prize at the Houston Film Festival, and Best Cinematography at the Society of Canadian Cinematographers. Later in the film, Dante’s senatorial campaign brings him to Davao City, braving the place that has been called Alsa Masa territory. The film also has a chilling account of a labor leader in Mandug hacked to death by the Tadtad (chop-chop) paramilitary as his family and comrades recalled witnessing the horror. Colonel Franco Calida also figures in the film as they patrol Agdao district, which was called “Nicaragdao” where Alsa Masa and NPA sparrow units clashed as villagers are divided between the two groups. The counterpoint comes from Davao City’s Alsa Masa, where paramilitary or vigilantes fueled by Pala’s words would attack activists. Meanwhile, a young Ka Oris and rebel priest Father Frank Navarro continued the armed struggle in Surigao. Full charge time is only about four to five hours, which means these are great for areas with low sunlight hours.įinally, the solar panel comes with a protective film that means the panels are even more durable and safe from the weather in pretty much any climate. The lights will stay on for between six and ten hours, depending on how much sun they receive the day before via that panel. The lights also have a fully adjustable panel and light neck so that anything you’re looking to illuminate will be covered while the panel will pick up the sun from whatever weird angle it might need to in your unique setting. They put out 200 lumens of light each, via the four LED lightbulbs they both contain, and they’re heatproof and waterproof. ![]() And this particular version is the 4th generation, meaning that Nekteck has put these spotlights to the test and continue improving on them year after year. ![]() They have an automatic on/off sensing that kicks in at sunset and kicks off at sunrise if they fully charged the day before. The Nekteck comes in a two pack for a low price, which is also a big plus for me. The screws for mounting on the wall come included with the lights. The first is that the lights are 2-in-1, which means they can either be planted in the ground via the attached stake or they can be mounted on a wall. The Nekteck solar 2-in-1 spotlights win the place for the best solar lights spotlight category for a number of reasons. Safety can be a huge issue here, especially at night when it’s easy to miss that bicycle sitting there or puppy pouncing on toys.īecause this is such a huge issue for so many of us, I spent special care evaluating these lights to make sure I’d only recommend the best solar driveway lights to keep your family safe. One of the most important places in any yard is the driveway. This brought this list down to about five in each category.Īt this point, I had to knock out any that weren’t just the absolute best of the best, which was hard to do as these top five in each grouping were truly the best that I could find after all the research and personal review.īut I knocked them down to a smaller list in each grouping and am left with this list of the absolute best solar yard lights. Then, I dropped off any that didn’t have a higher than average overall rating and stuck to those that had at least four out of five stars.įrom that list of about fifty options, I looked through the details of the lumens, the aesthetics, the comments of users, and the other criteria I use to choose anything solar powered. I then hacked away at that list, knocking out any that didn’t meet the standards I’d listed above. I compiled a list of about 100 options to chop down from. I wanted to give a list of the best of the best, though, so I dug around for hours looking for the best reviews from other reviewers and real-life consumers. ![]() Some have hundreds or thousands of great reviews from real users, while others just make it to someone’s top ten list because of an affiliate partnership. Some of them are absolutely phenomenal, while others are utter rubbish. So, because solar lights are wildly popular these days, there are literally thousands of options out there. How We Chose the Best Solar Garden Lights Let me tell you, first, how I figured out the best options, and then we’re off the review. ![]() We broke this down into the best of each category, to give you options for all of your lighting needs. All right, now let’s get down to this whole solar landscape lighting review thing. ![]() The fun factor is adequate in the Honda HR-V, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility for Sport trim and above, and Bluetooth streaming for all trims. It lacks the small storage space of Trax, however, with limited space in the center console and doors. Its cargo space is also amongst the highest in the segment, at 23.2 cubic feet with all seats upright, or 55.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. ![]() The 2020 Honda HR-V is also applauded for its roomy interior, with plenty of room for five passengers. ![]() This takes the place of the now-discontinued Midnight Edition. Available on the LT trim, this package adds black body accents, and black and red 18-inch alloy wheels. Trax also offers the Redline Edition cosmetic package that adds an extra level of “cool” to the appearance of the vehicle. As a result, Trax receives numerous thumbs up for being fun to drive as well as friendly for a variety of drivers, including city drivers, family haulers, and those who need regular room for cargo. Though the Trax has a bit less cargo room than the HR-V, with 18.7 cubic feet or 48.4 cubic feet with the rear seat folded, it offers more storage spots, including a front passenger seat drawer in the LT trim and above.Ĭhevy vehicles come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, with an intuitive infotainment system that has been praised across the manufacturer’s line up. Chevy’s contribution to the subcompact SUV segment, the Trax, receives unanimous praise for its abundant passenger room. What the People Are SayingĮarly reviews are flattering for both vehicles however, the 2020 Trax and 2020 HR-V each have their own strong points. However, looking at each option side-by-side should help narrow down the features and options that will work best for your family. Both vehicles have received high accolades amongst the vehicles in the class, which is certainly promising for anyone who might be overwhelmed by this increasingly popular segment of automobiles. Sorting through all of the facts and the opinions posted on the internet about each option can be confusing, but taking your decision one step at a time can relieve some of the stress of making the “right” decision. But choosing which vehicle should take the privileged place within your garage can be a stressful process. Each vehicle is generous with fuel economy. For those in the market for a subcompact or crossover SUV, it may be easy to narrow down the choices to the 2020 Chevy Trax vs 2020 Honda HR-V, but how to decide between the two?īoth are sporty and good looking vehicles that feature plenty of room for passengers and cargo. The Trax appeared on the US market in 2015, while the HR-V was introduced in 2016, and the 2020 models demonstrate a lot of growth within the first generation. The Chevy Trax and the Honda HR-V are living relatively parallel paths in the subcompact SUV class. One potential cost-driver is the film’s use of popular music. The most notable name in the lead cast is Marlee Matlin, who remains the only deaf actor to win the Academy Award for 1986’s “Children of a Lesser God.” (“Instructions Not Included” star Eugenio Derbez has a key supporting role.)ĭespite a lack of expensive star talent and complex locations, “CODA” cost roughly $10 million to produce (though three individuals with knowledge of the film said it cost twice that). Set in a blue-collar Massachusetts community, “CODA” does not have the ethos of a mid-to-high budget movie. Other newcomers, like MGM’s Orion label that came to the festival reinvigorated under new leader Alana Mayo, expressed appreciation, but did not want to swim in that financial deep end for the sake of appearing competitive, sources said. Another insider cited the ongoing closure of movie theaters and the troubled national rollout of COVID-19 vaccines as the cause - theaters need to be open for those companies to make money.Īmazon Studios, as Variety previously reported, warmed to the project, but had concerns about the number of films it will have to release over the next 12 months. The traditional prestige film distributors like Focus Features and Searchlight, no doubt intrigued by the film’s winning commercial potential and front-loaded awards prospects, quickly disappeared from bidding. The price was outsized even for free-spending Netflix - one insider said the streamer wouldn’t engage in a formal offer until the number dropped. ![]() The deal closed with Apple at $25 million. That led to a flurry of interest from prospective buyers, with offers beginning at $2 million and leveling out for serious contenders at $18 million (just over the price of the previous record-breaker, 2020’s “Palm Springs”), according to sources. ![]() The performances and compelling storyline led studios to think that “CODA” could be a major player at next year’s Oscars. Her dreams of going away to study singing at college are complicated by the important role she plays in helping her deaf father, mother and brother launch their fishing business. It’s unclear whether the film’s domestic sales brokers - CAA Media Finance and ICM - could have anticipated the glowing reviews and rapturous social media response to the story of a teenager (breakout Emilia Jones) who is the only hearing member of her family. Heading into the festival, multiple sales agents earmarked the film as a potential winner. ![]() âls -alhâ will show you more details about the files contained in a folder.âls -râ will recursively show the subdirectories of the directory.âls -hâ will show the files while showing their sizes as well.âls -aâ will show you all the files in a directoryâ.âls /home/folderâ will enlist all the content inside the âfolderâ directory. ls: It stands for list command which is used to display all the contents in a folder or directory.mkdir: It stands for make directory and as the name suggest, it helps you with making a new directory with the name you choose at your current directory path.Syntax: mkdir directoryName.âcd ~â will take you to your home directory and âcd /â will take you to root directory.Typing âcd-â command will take you back to â/homeâ. In addition, paw preference in canine species has also been associated with functional differences at both behavioral and physiological levels 23. vision 16, 17, auditory 18, olfaction 19) and paw preference has been widely reported in different motor tasks 20, 21, 22. The domestic dog may offer a valid animal model to study the relationship between motor lateralization and visuospatial attention mechanisms since the dog brain appears to be lateralized in a variety of perceptual sensory modalities (e.g. 2 reported an opposite lateralized pattern of shift in attention associated with drowsiness in a population of 26 right-handed and 26 non right-handed healthy humans, suggesting that the relationship of handedness with hemispheric lateralization for attention is task-dependent. Furthermore, during an auditory spatial localization task, Bareham et al. FMRI analysis reported a right-lateralized brain network associated with attention system in right-handed but not in left-handed subjects 15. Briefly, the leftward visuospatial bias was evident in both pecking activity and the order in which single pecks were made to the left and to the right-hand side of a surface uniformly spread with grains 11.Īlthough preferential handedness is one of the striking features of motor control in humans 12 and clear evidence exists that contralesional limb activation could reduce unilateral spatial neglect 13, 14, there are very few studies about how handedness may interact with spatial bias.Īn effect of handedness on spatial perceptual biases has been recently reported in human studies 2, 15. “pseudoneglect” phenomenon) 9, 10.Ī very similar leftward visuospatial bias was reported in a food detection task in which birds were required to explore an area in front of them and to sample grains 11. Neuropsychological tests in healthy human subjects, such as the cancellation task, provide further evidence of right hemisphere superiority in spatial attention, reporting a systematic leftward bias during “cancellation” of visual items on a sheet of paper placed midline in front of them (i.e. Taken together, these findings supported the hypothesis of a right hemispheric advantage in the control of spatial attention resources 8. However, left hemispatial neglect caused by damage to the right hemisphere occurs more than right hemispatial neglect due to left hemisphere stroke and asymmetries in recovery time show that right spatial neglect resolves more quickly than left (in other words, a right functionally-intact hemisphere can compensate for damaged left hemispheric spatial functions) 5, 6, 7. Attention deficit on the contralesional side of space following unilateral stroke (namely, unilateral spatial neglect) is a clear external manifestation of this phenomenon 3, 4. All rights reserved. It is well established that there is a complementary specialization of the two sides of the brain in terms of spatial attention, so that the right hemisphere processes information from the left visual field and the left hemisphere processes information from the right visual field 1, 2. These results are particularly significant as they point out that paying attention to potential individual hemispheric differences is important in both basic and clinical neuroscience.Īnimal model Clinical neuroscience Handedness Hemispheric asymmetries Laterality Rodents Translational neuroscience.Ĭopyright © 2021 Elsevier Ltd. However, contrary to what has been reported in humans, population level asymmetries were not observed. In mice, 81 % of animals showed a preference for either the left or the right paw, while 84 % of rats showed this preference. For both species, results indicate significant hemispheric asymmetries on the individual level. Here, we used meta-analysis to statistically integrate findings on paw preferences in rats and mice. Paw preference is one of the most frequently investigated forms of hemispheric asymmetries on the behavioural level. In particular, data on hemispheric asymmetries, an important organizational principle in the vertebrate brain, are conflicting as existing studies are often statistically underpowered due to small sample sizes. Despite their ubiquity as model species, many clinically relevant brain-behaviour relationships in rodents are not well understood. Mice and rats are among the most common animal model species in both basic and clinical neuroscience. ![]() Parallel It infers p(a1,a2.) from assertion of S and p(b1,b2.) from assertion S. For example, two statements show the relationship result: Ram was caught in the fire. ![]() Hebb has proposed such kind of relations as follows − We are taking two terms S and S to represent the meaning of the two related sentences − Result It infers that the state asserted by term S could cause the state asserted by S. As we know that coherence relation defines the possible connection between utterances in a discourse. To achieve the coherent discourse, we must focus on coherence relations in specific. Text Coherence Lexical repetition is a way to find the structure in a discourse, but it does not satisfy the requirement of being coherent discourse. These discourse markers are domain-specific. Discourse marker or cue word is a word or phrase that functions to signal discourse structure. In supervised discourse segmentation, discourse marker or cue words play an important role. On the other hand, supervised discourse segmentation needs to have boundary-labeled training data. Super vised Discourse Segmentation The earlier method does not have any hand-labeled segment boundaries. On the other hand, lexicon cohesion is the cohesion that is indicated by the relationship between two or more words in two units like the use of synonyms. These algorithms are dependent on cohesion that may be defined as the use of certain linguistic devices to tie the textual units together. ![]() In the example, there is a task of segmenting the text into multi-paragraph units the units represent the passage of the original text. We can understand the task of linear segmentation with the help of an example. The algorithms are described below − Unsuper vised Discourse Segmentation The class of unsupervised discourse segmentation is often represented as linear segmentation. Algorithms for Discourse Segmentation In this section, we will learn about the algorithms for discourse segmentation. It is quite difficult to implement discourse segmentation, but it is very important for information retrieval, text summarization and information extraction kind of applications. Discourse segmentations may be defined as determining the types of structures for large discourse. The answer to this question depends upon the segmentation we applied on discourse. Discourse structure An important question regarding discourse is what kind of structure the discourse must have. Such kind of coherence is called entity-based coherence. Relationship between entities Another property that makes a discourse coherent is that there must be a certain kind of relationship with the entities. For example, some sort of explanation must be there to justify the connection between utterances. This property is called coherence relation. The coherent discourse must possess the following properties − Coherence relation between utterances The discourse would be coherent if it has meaningful connections between its utterances. It is because these sentences do not exhibit coherence. The question that arises here is what does it mean for a text to be coherent? Suppose we collected one sentence from every page of the newspaper, then will it be a discourse? Of- course, not. Coherence, along with property of good text, is used to evaluate the output quality of natural language generation system. Concept of Coherence Coherence and discourse structure are interconnected in many ways. These coherent groups of sentences are referred to as discourse. Actually, the language always consists of collocated, structured and coherent groups of sentences rather than isolated and unrelated sentences like movies. If we talk about the major problems in NLP, then one of the major problems in NLP is discourse processing − building theories and models of how utterances stick together to form coherent discourse. Natural Language Discourse Processing The most difficult problem of AI is to process the natural language by computers or in other words natural language processing is the most difficult problem of artificial intelligence. With this fast-paced opening, Kingpin swiftly treats its audience to a vintage ‘90s Bill Murray performance (mixing sleaze and charm like no other), not to mention a fun and dialed-up Woody Harrelson outing. Left to fend for himself, Roy is beaten savagely by the men he and Bernie had just conned in a violent montage that ends with Roy’s hand being thrust into a bowling ball return and severed. Not long afterward, the two men are confronted in the parking lot, and Ernie-being the selfish and spineless traitor that he is-ditches Roy by peeling off in his beat-up car. The ploy pays off (at least at first) when Munson knocks down a 7-10 split, winning Ernie and himself some quick money. The hustle-feigning amateurish talent to coax a competitor into betting big-very much feels like a nod to The Hustler (a much classier sports movie). In what turns out to be a life-changing grift, Roy’s role is to pretend to be incompetent during a bowling match with money on the line. It doesn’t take long before he is lured into a racket with Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray), a bowling rival who recruits Roy as a sidekick to his schemes. Unfortunately, Roy’s naïvety quickly lands him in trouble. Written by Barry Farano (who also penned Men in Black II and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) and Mort Nathan (who directed National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj and Boat Trip), Kingpin follows the life of Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson), a bowling prodigy from small-town Ocelot, Iowa who heads out on a nationwide professional bowling circuit after winning the 1979 Iowa State championship. Raunchy, ribald, and yet intermittently warm-hearted, the movie is clearly a collective effort-the byproduct of a comedic team who are all tapped into the same juvenile wavelength. Directed by the Farrelly Brothers at the peak of their popularity, Kingpin’s bawdy humor fits their sensibilities (see Dumb and Dumber and There’s Something About Mary) so perfectly it is a shock to learn that they did not write the screenplay. ![]() Embiid is obviously a bigger loss than Lowry, but while the Sixers flounder to find an answer without their star man, the Heat just keep chugging along. The importance of having that depth has been especially obvious in this series. Even with Kyle Lowry out injured and $90 million man Duncan Robinson out of the rotation, head coach Erik Spoelstra was comfortable playing nine different guys in a second-round playoff game. They draft well, have arguably the best player development team in the league and are constantly finding players that other teams overlooked. Herro, Oladipo lead Miami's bench attackĪmong the Heat's many positive qualities is their depth. That's bad news against a Heat team that is undefeated at home in the playoffs and was an Eastern Conference-best 29-12 at home in the regular season. Embiid's status for the rest of the series is still up in the air, but even if he does return at some point, the Sixers are going to have to win four of the next five games, including at least one in Miami. The Heat now have a commanding 2-0 series lead and have put the Sixers in a real hole. ![]() They led from the end of the first quarter on, and spent most of that time up by double digits. While they could never quite pull away in Game 2 on Wednesday night, they were also never seriously threatened. That's just what they did, winning the first two games at home in convincing fashion. ![]() They had to take care of business and prevent the Sixers from stealing a game before Embiid returned. At the same time, the MVP candidate's absence put a lot of pressure on the Heat. The Heat caught a huge break when the Sixers announced that Joel Embiid had suffered a broken orbital bone and a concussion during Game 6 against the Toronto Raptors, and would be sidelined for the start of the second round. Here are three key takeaways from the game: 1. With the win, Miami moves two wins away from clinching a spot in the Eastern Conference finals against either the Milwaukee Bucks or Boston Celtics. On the other side, the 76ers were led by James Harden and Tyrese Maxey but, in the end, their combined 54 points, 10 assists and seven assists were not enough to overcome what the Heat were able to do on both ends of the floor. Miami received balanced scoring from up and down their lineup throughout the win but it was Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo who led the way with 45 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists combined. The Miami Heat took a 2-0 series lead over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night after closing out Game 2 in South Beach with a 119-103 win. You want all of you equipment to have a single path to ground. A circuit breaker opens when there is an overheating of the conductor (dead short) a GFCI opens when it senses that current is going somewhere other than the return on the neutral conductor such as to ground through a human.Įlectricity follows the path of least resistance and the fact that all of your grounds and neutrals are bonded (or should be) at the panel is normal and would not contribute to this problem you are having. BREAKERS are for conductor protection.Ī GFCI is VERY much different than a circuit breaker. Once the amperes get past a certain threshold, the circuit opens. GFCI outlets pop when there is too much current on ground. The real solution is getting current off of neutral and ground. It is 1 step of a very frustrating process to eliminate background noise, hum, etc. So this is just friendly advice and steps I've taken to avoid ground loops in my ham radio equipment. And it will effect EVERYTHING on that panel. If some piece of equipment on that circuit is inducing current onto either neutral or ground.this can be a source of hum that is heard. ![]() The white and the green are connected to the same ground bus.
